This is the official winners of the 2005 Deaf Blog Awards. I'm still waiting from this particular person who is going to tabulate all numbers right after I removed the IP addresses associated with T-Mobile's Sidekicks.

I'll need the authors of Wham-BAM, helter skelter, killin' helen keller, Sonny James, A Deaf Activist, BLACKCORE, Kosmonaut Photo Blog, the world according to TactileJunkie 2005 and VikingsBabe to get in touch with me via the email at Ridor9th@gmail.com so that I can distribute the banners for you to post on ur blogs to indicate that people chose you as the best in a certain category.

Of course, next year will be much better and smooth as I plan to get people involved and to make the 2006 Deaf Blog Awards better than ever. That means what? Legitimacy, creativity and neutrality.

AS soon as this particular person gets to send me the tabulated numbers, I'll post it up for others to read the accurate numbers. Right now, I can do nothing but wait for him.

Polls Closed

As of 1 PM, the polls are closed. I'm now working on the collections of votes and submit to someone else to finalize and tabulate the percentage. I'm so bad with the mathematics so I'm turning it over to a dear friend of mine, Sonny. From there, he'll be able to confirm the winners and numbers -- so that I can post it for the world to see.

Not only that, today, I'm not feeling well -- maybe I caught a bug today. So give me few hours or a day to get things together! From the bottom of my heart, thank y'all for putting up with me and the blogsite to make the first annual deaf blog awards a moderately successful run. Not bad for the first year, eh?

Only 16 hours left before the voting closes.

Do you have any suggestions for next year's contest so that I can implement the guidelines.

One already suggested that each nominee must be emailed before the voting contests started. I agreed with her. I did not think about it until few days after that.

Cheat? Then Your Favorite One Shall Be Disqualified!

I was alerted that someone attempted to use the sidekicks to rig the votes. Since that poll has limited version for me to do that much, I can only observe the IP address but not to remove the votes. That left me with one option -- to document each IP address that rigged the polls for me to remove when it is over with next Tuesday afternoon.

In Best Photo Blog, Kosmonaut was voted incessantly via the sidekick pager. The total of 14 votes (as of Wednesday) will be removed from that person. If someone attempts to repeat this action, Kosmonaut will be disqualified in a swift and immediate manner.

In Best Deaf Blog, Deafness/Hard of Hearing was voted incessantly via the sidekick pager by the total of 11 votes. The person already alerted me about that. 11 votes will be removed at the end of the contest.

Basically, I'm sorry to be harsh on this -- but if someone attempts to rig in favor of someone else, that "someone else" will lose its place. I think it is very fair to other contestants that I try to institute some kind of fair play in this contest.

Let's play nice and honest.

First of Firsts

It is that time of the year. The 2005 Deaf Blog Awards is here!

The purpose of 2005 Deaf Blog Awards are to make Deaf bloggers visible as much as can be. It is a way to earn the bragging rights for what you did with your own blogs. When one wins the specific category, they will receive the 2x3 (wallet-sized) banner to post it on your blogsite to indicate that you won the best category. It surely will help your blogs to garner some attention and hits as well.

Naturally, this site shall be constantly under construction from time to time.

I already set up the categories as suggested by many readers. Up next is for you to read and nominate anyone else to the list of categories. First of all, you can nominate yourself, your friend or any blogger to the list, be sure to tell me which categories. You are not limited to a category, in fact, you can be nominated for several categories if you want to.

The nominations will expire at midnight on Monday the 19th.

Then the nominated bloggers will be placed under the categories and I will set up the polls for others to vote -- so I wish everyone the best!
